Skills for Rhode Island’ s Future is recruiting candidates  for the Shipfitter Training Program at The Shipbuilding/Marine and Advanced Manufacturing Institute (SAMI) located on Post Rd. Warwick, RI.  SAMI has connected over 450 program participants to jobs with their 110 participating companies.

The Shipfitter Training Program is a free 5-weeks hands-on and classroom training that prepares participants for entry level positions in the marine industry throughout RI and nearby Mass. Candidates will learn new skills including burning, grinding, welding, hand tool and scribe use, blueprint comprehension, fabrication, assembly of metal structures, and preparation for welding.

Time: 7: 00 AM  to 3: 30 PM, daily

Where: 2480 Post Rd. Warwick, RI
