COMPANY NAME: Connecting for Children and Families
JOB TITLE: School Age Teacher Assistant
LOCATION: Woonsocket
HOURS: Full-Time, Part-Time, 1st Shift


$14.00 - $17.00 per hour depending on experience and education.

The School Age Teacher Assistant will work with the Site Coordinator and the Director to create a family centered, trauma informed space for elementary students before and after school and during school vacations and summer break. They will ensure that all requirements are met (CCF, DHS, and BrightStars) to ensure that students are healthy, safe, and engaged.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning engaging enriching activities.
  • Ensure an accurate count of students at all times, maintain ratios.
  • Prep materials for activities and learning centers.
  • Interact and engage with the students.
  • Greet parents and children by name at drop off and pick up.
  • Develop positive relationships with families to ensure their child's success.
  • Complete 24 hours professional development per year
  • Create and follow an individualized professional development plan (IPDP)
  • Attend all Family Engagement Events
  • Attend monthly staff meetings

Successful Candidates Will Have:

  • High school diploma or GED required; preferred-12-24 college credits.
  • Desire to work with elementary age children kindergarten to grade five. Experience and training in working with children is helpful.
  • Experience with multi-cultural and economically diverse populations.
  • The ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner.
  • The ability to be flexible with tasks assigned.
  • A positive attitude, be reliable and creative.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to problem solve.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred, but not required.
