Skills for Rhode Island’s Future is seeking a driven and experienced Project Manager to join its Strategy & Development Department, a division responsible for supporting the agency’s client-facing departments through services such as marketing, fundraising, data, program design, logistics, and project management. This role offers the opportunity to make an impact delivering added value to our program design, logistics, and implementation. 

Preferably a certified Project Manager, this position will be responsible for assisting various teams in completing projects within the education department. Candidate must be local to the area and able to work out of our office in Providence.



The Project Manager will:

  • Manage the logistics of various education initiatives, including current and new program rollouts (e.g. PrepareRI high school and college internship programs PrepareRI WBL Navigator, etc.), internal and external events, and cross-department deliverables
  • Manage the distribution and allocation of resources and setting of deadlines to ensure initiatives are executed with little disruption and maximum efficiency
  • Lead or assist in the definition of project scope, objectives and budgets
  • Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress; identify appropriate measurement tools to analyze short- and long-term goals
  • Work with Strategy & Development team members as well as cross-functionally with the Education & Training, Client Services, and Talent Acquisition departments to ensure deliverables and goals are met and align with each department
  • Support the leadership team as needed by developing process documents related to high-priority initiatives or new program pitches
  • Attend conferences and trainings as required to maintain proficiency
  • Work closely with the agency’s Project Managers and Director of Project Management to regularly communicate and share information regarding various projects within the agency; ensure efforts are aligned and not duplicated


  • Passion for SkillsRI’s mission and vision of transforming lives through meaningful employment and economic mobility
  • 2-4 years of experience in Project Management or dynamic corporate operations
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Solid organization, time management, and attention to detail
  • Agile and waterfall Project Management knowledge and skill
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and digital Project Management tools
  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
  • Project Management certification strongly desired, PMP, CAPM, CSM, DASM, etc.
  • Exposure to Education and Training program development and deployment preferred
