Skills for Rhode Island’s Future is recruiting candidates for Electric Boat, a Quonset based manufacturer who designs and builds the nuclear submarines used by our US Navy. 


COMPANY NAME:  General Dynamics Electric Boat

JOB TITLE:  Pipefitter

LOCATION:  North Kingstown, RI

HOURS:  Full Time


Electric Boat is seeking experienced pipefitters for their Quonset facility. 
 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Fabricate and install the piping systems that carry the ship’s liquids and gases
  • Working with various systems including hydraulic, lube oil, high and low-pressure air and steam and seawater
  • Enhancing systems to prepare for Company, Navy, and Government inspections

Successful candidates will have:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Basic math and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, shipyard procedures, test documents, diagrams and perform basic layout functions
