LOCATION: North Kingstown, RI
HOURS:  3rd  shift available

The Packer is expected to perform the duties listed below along with any other requirements requested by He/she(s) supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

- Hand package sachets of food product into finished product cartons

- Inspect food sachets for quality compliance (print and seal qualities, and weigh checks)

- Operate form-fill-seal machine to produce sachets

- Monitor production equipment for proper operation

- Document all necessary recordings while producing (weights, scrap, quality and downtime issues…)

- Comply with production requirements for expected output/shift

- Identify/communicate reasons for missed production output/quality issues and downtime occurrences

- In situation be prepared to lift 30-35lbs boxes from production line

- Responsible for department organization, cleanliness, and Master sanitation schedule

- Work in compliance to all company procedures as pertaining to safety, quality and production

- Work any & all production positions as requested

- Cover for breaks /lunch throughout the department

- Count sachets on line or inside boxes as needed

- Assist in changing of film when change-over and film charges are required

- Initiate cleaning process of sealing jaws, also changing of cutting blades

- Ability to learn basic machinery functions (Adjusting sachet weight)

Successful candidates will have:

- Proficient of written and spoken English

- Proven positive attendance record and proven record of punctuality in previous employment with no written warnings

- Have keen visual and comprehensive inspection skills & proven experience

- A good understanding of a Quality Management System (QMS)

- Ability to learn and follow Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP’ s) as directed

- Ability to frequently lift and carry 50 lbs. for short distances

- Must be 18 years or older

- Self-starter – works with minimal supervision

- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment

- Prior participation in safety teams / have had certified safety training

- Willing to train for expanded duties in batch making & blending areas

- Ability to use a low-lift/Walkie


- Prior experience working in a food specific manufacturing facility

- High school education or GED equivalent

- Demonstrate basic math skills and use of desktop computer

- Flexible in working hours/shifts

- Can accommodate overtime as requested

- Prior experience working with packaging equipment


- Industrial food manufacturing/Production line environment

- Close proximity to peanuts, vegetable oils and food powders

- Fast paced continuous production line

- Requires constant standing while on production floor

- Inconsistent loud machinery for less than two hour increments
