Skills for Rhode Island’ s Future is recruiting candidates  for the Marine Trades Core Training Program through the Rhode Island Marine Trades Association (RIMTA).  Please read more about Skills for Rhode Island’ s Future at the end of this job description. 

The Marine Trades Training Program is a free 3-week hands-on training that prepares participants for entry level positions in the marine and composites industries throughout RI.  Participants will receive a stipend of $100 per week during training.

Start Date:  March 11th, 2019

Time:  Mon-Fri. 8: 00am-4: 00pm  (3 weeks)

Where: CCRI Newport Campus and on-site employer locations 

  • Must be 18yrs. and older, RI  resident, and eligible to work in the US
  • Underemployed or unemployed
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs. or more
  • Reliable transportation-training locations change daily/weekly
  • Must complete program assessments
  • GED/HS Diploma preferred but not required 

***No previous marine or boat experience is necessary
