JOB TITLE:  Maintenance Manager
LOCATION:  Lincoln, RI

The successful candidate for the position of the Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall Maintenance of all Production related equipment. They oversee all aspects of the maintenance process, from installation and upkeep to inspection and repair, often assuming a hands-on role in one or more stages of the process. The supervisory demands of this position require strong leadership skills, including the ability to delegate tasks and assignments effectively. Due to the nature of this position, the Maintenance Manager is required to work on-site. Maintenance Managers oversee a team of subordinates and answer to the Director of Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

· Continuous on the Job Training with new Line Mechanics

· Coordinate Line changeovers to support production schedule

· Delegate projects to department personnel

· Monitor Ensur for all Department employees’ training

· Conduct yearly performance reviews for all department employees

· Schedule personnel in early to prepare lines for production start-ups

· Schedule equipment vendor training with department employees on new equipment

· Monitor department employees’ attendance

· Process bills promptly, resolves billing issues and informs A/P of billing disputes.

· Approve department employee vacations request.

· Monitor P.P.E. supplies for all Maintenance employees’ and issue purchase orders to restock

· Maintain the current Maintenance Express PM program with issuing, scheduling, closing, manuals and uploading into Ensur for Quality approval.

· Maintain an adequate supply of replacement parts for all production equipment. Issue purchase orders as needed. Such as: Bundling film, Crovac shrink film, pallet wrap, case tape, rubber type for case coders, shipping labels and hot melt glue, metal types for embossing equipment hot stamp ribbon for all line printers.

· Attend the daily production meeting giving feedback on the readiness of production lines

· Work directly with outside equipment vendors on new equipment tooling

· Attend F.A.T’ s at vendor sites and approve the proper operations of new equipment

· Look at new potential projects and provide feedback on the best equipment to run these products with budgetary tooling cost

· Interview new candidates and administer an entrance exam

· Prepare and attend various meetings with the new products team supplying feedback & updates on the weekly agenda.

· Order new equipment when required and issuing approved purchase orders

· Coordinate outside vendors on equipment replacement parts that are no longer available at the O.E.M & ensures repairs are conducted in a timely manner to minimize impact on production.

· Schedule outside support when major electrical issues arise

· Assists in managing the maintenance team in performing diagnostic troubleshooting on all plant equipment.

· Can use our current machine shop equipment to make quick in-house repairs

· Assists in managing the maintenance team in performing diagnostic troubleshooting on all plant equipment.

· Meet every day with oncoming shift supervisor to discuss the nightly plan including required equipment changeovers

· Coordinate installation of new equipment with all related contractors

· Resolve Line break downs and devise a plan to get equipment back on-line in an efficient manner.

· Purchase and maintain spare parts for critical equipment ensuring expected lead time is taken into consideration.

· Frequently evaluate continuous improvement opportunities and equipment capital expenditures. Submitting PO’ s/Capex reports with justification.

· Maintain an adequate supply of hardware both Standard / Metric

· Approval of all new products and P.W.O.’ s in Ensur in a timely fashion

· Maintain equipment set-up guides for all Lines

Successful candidates will have:

· Primarily, Maintenance managers must ensure the proper Maintenance of their employer’ s business.

·  To that end, a successful maintenance manager must develop and maintain a plan that provides optimal operational effectiveness.

·  In other words: keep things running smoothly and error-free.

·  Such a plan requires an analytical mindset, the ability to forecast challenges, practical scheduling, and a talent for budgeting both time and labor.

· Train and Evaluate Staff

· To ensure operational effectiveness and compliance with company standards, the Maintenance manager trains their team on best practices and reviews and evaluates their subordinates’ performances for continued success.

Coordinate with Others

Communication is a big part of a Maintenance manager’ s daily workflow. Whether it is reporting to superiors, coordinating with vendors and contractors, or conferring with peers and other supervisors, a Maintenance Manager is responsible for communicating effectively with all parties in a manner that addresses all concerns and inquiries.

Physical Requirements

· Ensure to follow proper G.M.P. & G.D.P.

· An employee will be exposed to inside and could be exposed to external environmental conditions.

· Occasional travel will be required, primarily, but not limited to travel between sites.

· The physical activity of this position includes, but is not limited to:

Education/ Experience

· Minimum High School Diploma, College Degree preferred 3-8+ years of experience in a similar/comparable position preferred

· Ability to interface with all levels within the organization.

Additional Skills and Qualification

· Ability to create a maintenance schedule, ability to troubleshoot, knowledge of structure or grounds to be maintained, knowledge of maintenance procedures, knowledge of systems to be maintained (e.g. Electrical, machines, Preventive Maintenance), ability to lift heavy loads, physical agility, manual dexterity, management experience is preferred, Experience in maintenance is required.
