LOCATION: Cranston, Rhode Island
HOURS: 1st Shift

Bay Computer Associates, Inc. is a software development and electronics design firm that has been operating in RI for over 30 years. BCA specializes in high-end medical device design as well as consumer devices, manufacturing systems, laboratory devices, and research. Our diverse, permanent staff of 25+ engineers can act as your entire electronics and software group, or reinforce your existing team. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, development, prototyping, and production transfer of new products from concept to the customer.
  • Component investigation, evaluation, and selection.
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Writing and executing verification test plans
  • Technically advise in customer meetings and help to direct internal meetings.
  • Collaborate on requirements & design documentation.
  • Participate in schematic and layout reviews.
  • Writing weekly status reports of progress made.

Successful Candidates Will Have:
  • Strong technical communication both verbal and written.
  • Customer communication (Including professional presentations, demos, and phone calls)
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively learn how to utilize new technologies Debugging/attention to detail. 
  • Organized methodical workflow Ability to work independently but contribute to team collaborations and outputs.
  • Passionate and curious about electrical engineering and design and love to make things work.
  • A proven problem solver who will tackle complex problems head-on but isn’t afraid to ask for help.
  • A natural self-starter with a drive to produce high-quality products Flexible and have the ability to adapt to different types of work on a variety of projects Balance work between 2-5 projects at a time.
  • Ready to develop personally and professionally with an established and growing company.
  • Experience with analog and digital electronics designs, areas of interest include Low noise signal filtering and amplification.
  • Op Amp design 
  • Embedded PCB design
  • RF communications (BLE, Wi-Fi, Cellular) 
  • Serial and Parallel communications
  • Transmission line theory
  • Switching and linear power regulator design 
  • Experience testing and troubleshooting hardware products.
  • Familiarity with soldering small components on PCBAs 
  • Familiarity with test equipment: Oscilloscope, Digital Multimeter, Vector Network Analyzer
  • Experience and exposure to FPGA programming
