COMPANY NAME: Apple Rehab
JOB TITLE: CNA
LOCATION: Westerly, Rhode Island
HOURS: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift.
With direct supervision, guidance, and direction from licensed/registered nursing staff, provides care for residents and assists in maintaining a positive physical, social and psychological environment for the residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents in daily bathing, grooming, dental care, bowel and bladder functions, dressing, walking, and wheelchair use, positioning in and out of bed, chairs and bathtubs.
- Prepares residents for meals and snacks. Transfers residents to dining rooms as instructed. Feeds residents who require feeding and assist other residents as needed.
- Maintains resident confidentiality and privacy.
- Assists in providing a clean and safe working environment.
- Assists with resident admission and charges.
Successful candidates will have:
- Must be a CNA in good standing and meet all certification requirements.
- Holds current, active CNA state registration.
- Must have no record of convicted patient/resident abuse with State Registry.
- Ability to walk, reach, bend, lift, push, pull, turn, scoop and stretch.
- Ability to lift and transfer residents to and from different levels (bed to chair, in and out of bathtubs, on/off commodes and toilets).
- Ability to push wheelchairs and geri-chairs.
- Ability to carry and clean soiled linens.
- Visual, hearing, smelling, and touching acuity to detect changes in residents' condition(s).
- Ability to remain calm in case of emergencies.
- Ability to participate in various trainings and departmental meetings, etc.
