Skills for Rhode Island’ s Future (Skills RI) is recruiting training candidates  for the Pipe Welding Training Program in Warwick, RI sponsored by The Shipbuilding/Marine and Advanced Manufacturing Institute (SAMI). 

TRAINING TITLE: Pipe Welding Training Program

HOURS: 7: 00 AM  to 3: 30 PM, Monday-Friday

WHERE: 2480 Post Rd. Warwick, RI


This is a free classroom and shop training that prepares participants for entry level welding positions in various industries throughout RI and nearby Mass. Candidates will learn new skills in welding, shop safety, handling pressurized gases, cutting and fabrication.   Training will included Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding, carbon steel welding, stainless steel argon welding, and stick welding. 

  • Rhode Island Resident
  • Unemployed
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Enjoys physically demanding work
  • Able to frequently lift / push 25 or more pounds
  • Willing to comply with safety procedures
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Strong communication skills
