Organization Profile

Skills for Rhode Island’s Future (Skills RI) is a nonprofit organization that identifies companies’ immediate hiring needs and connects them with qualified, unemployed, or underemployed job seekers as well as working to fill the skills gap through training and work-based learning opportunities.  


The Recruiter will:

- Conduct 2-3 individual or group interviews a day 

- Work within a designated vertical (Healthcare, Manufacturing & Labor, professional Services, or Food & Retail)

- Manage candidate relationships with frequent communication throughout the process with real-time documentation of candidate status

 - Manage a high volume of calls and emails

- Encourage candidates with professional development and career enhancement tips

- Facilitate communication with other team members on workflow, candidate status, and other relevant information

- Comply with defined processes and standards

- Help meet or exceed team goals for candidates submitted, hired, and retained

- Complete or assist with other staffing projects as assigned to enhance company services and processes

- Attend hiring events as assigned

Candidate Profile

Qualified candidates will demonstrate the following experience, skills, and personal attributes:

- Passion for the mission of Skills RI and enthusiasm for its success

- Comfort with - and enthusiasm for - working in a fast-paced start-up environment

- Minimum of 2 years of professional recruiting experience preferred

- Sales and/or customer service experience preferred

- Ability to organize and prioritize work and to accomplish goals under tight time constraints

- Ability to communicate professionally across a broad range of constituent groups

- Strong interpersonal skills including relationship building, customer service, empathy, and resilience

- Ambitious, pro-active and detail-oriented

- Willingness to work hard, maintain a positive attitude, and overcome challenges

- Solution-oriented problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize according to business goals

- Conviction, integrity, honesty, and maturity in all situations

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other current cloud-based technologies as an end-user

- Experience with a database tool; Bullhorn experience preferred
